BUS TRIP TO LIBERTY SHOWCASE THEATRE: APRIL 14
The Bedford County Parks & Recreation is sponsoring a bus trip to the Liberty Showcase Theatre, Liberty, NC, on Saturday, April 14, 2007, to see the Chad and Kristi Gaines Variety Show. The Chad and Kristi Gaines show features a variety of the best music such as COUNTRY, OLDIES, POP, BEACH, ELVIS, GOSPEL, WESTERN and SWING starring talented and popular house band “The Liberty Showcase Band”! Comdeian “Zeke” (Jeff Smith) shows up to make everyone laugh. Liberty Showcase is an alcohol free, smoke free environment. The theatres nearly 500 seats are on an incline, providing great views of the stage no matter where you sit. The stage has been enlarged so the performers and the band seem as though they are out in the audience. Lower-level and balcony seats are available. BUS TOUR TO BLUE RIDGE’S BUFFALO MTN: APRIL 24
The Bedford County Parks & Recreation is sponsoring a bus trip to Blue Ridge’s Buffalo Mountain for a tour of the six historical rock churches built by Rev. Bob Childress, on Tuesday, April 24, 2007. In a biography entitled “The Man Who Moved A Mountain,” it is told how Rev. Childress braved the wilderness and brought the light of the gospel to wild and brutal areas. The Hillsville Massacre in 1912 helped Bob Childress to realize that the drinking, fighting and killings, so much a part of the mountain peoples’ lives, were not normal. This tour tells how one man made such a huge impact on these mountain people. The group will also tour a Country Store and have lunch at the Woodberry Inn in Meadows of Dan, VA. Lunch will include: Ham, Baked Chicken, Vegetable, Mashed Potatoes, Roll, Apple Crisp with Ice Cream, Sweet Tea and Coffee.
